Does anyone wish to comment on the proxy? I own shares in multiple accounts (IRA's, Roth, regular brokerage) and have set them up for electronic shareholder materials. Then on Saturday, the postman had to had-deliver the mail because it wouldn't fit into the mail box. Why? Because trees were cut down by PDC to deliver think annual reports (one for each account) and an argument how I should vote the shares. Then there was also a thin report from the fund urging me to vote for their slate of directors.
I have several E&P positions, including Anadarko, and have been trading such Permian based stocks. But I work for a public corporation in a completely different industry (pharma). I didn't study the "arguments" in detail because I didn't want to get stuck in the weeks. But my take on it is that this is all about the CEO getting over-paid with poor performance and packing the Board with his buddies to keep the money flowing into their collective pockets. The equity fund is trying to remove this cozy relationship and make hay when the sun is shining and likely look to sell the company as part of industry consolidation because overhead is too high. That was the message I saw but not expressly stated that way.
Now please do the same thing for the company where I work where we have the same problem with the CEO who has packed the Board with his friends and award themselves rich option packages while leaving minimal crumbs for those of us who get the work done. Please buy us so I can cash out my options and shares (forward vesting).
Is this what others see as well?

PDC Energy upgraded at Stifel on reduced credit facility concerns
    Carl SurranMay 21, 2020 12:57 PM ET
PDC Energy (PDCE +0.4%) edges higher as Stifel upgrades shares to Buy from Hold with a $21 price target, raised from $14, at Stifel, where analyst Michael Scialla says the recent oil price rally reduces his concern over the company's potential reliance on its credit facility to fund a near-term debt maturity.

"Strong FCF generation should fund an upcoming maturity, bolster a solid balance sheet, and cause the stock's 40% discount to our mid-cap peer group to narrow," Scialla writes.

PDCE's average Wall Street analyst rating and Seeking Alpha Authors' Rating are both Bullish, while its Quant Rating is Neutral.

    Decent article at: https://seekingalpha.com/article/4356122-pdc-energy-enviable-free-cash-flow-profile

Post your comments there as that may get wider distribution and responses. My only comment is about DCP’s pipeline constraints and how their new facilities will impact PDCE’s production rate.

Finally energy is catching a bid, and I think PDCE will be a big beneficiary and one of the leaders in the space.

We all need patience, pdce is bargain, eog, Devon and oxy as well. Oxy has the best oil assets , but a debt issue, they are working on and will solve it. Once Ghana deal is save, oxy will double minimum. I am a holder in these oil companies, because oil price will recover. Saudis and Russian regime cannot survive with these prices. Hence I expect we will see 60 usd soon, all companies then will be tripled.

The legendary oil tycoon's (T. Boone Pickens) Texas-based firm transitioned to a family office structure in 2018, but still operates two energy-focused mutual funds. When picking stocks, the portfolio managers look for companies that will benefit from changes in the U.S. oil and gas industry. Based on these criteria, BP Capital established positions in PDC Energy Inc. (NASDAQ:PDCE), Schlumberger Ltd. (NYSE:SLB) and Devon Energy Corp. (NYSE:DVN

    Excerp:

    Company: Linn Energy

    2014 % Stock Price Change: -67%

Total Compensation in 2014: $10 million

Of all the oil and natural gas companies on this list, Linn Energy has easily fared the worst over the last two years. In 2014, the company's stock price dropped 67 percent. Through most of 2015, the stock price dropped an additional 80 percent.

Although nothing seems to be going right in the oil industry, it's safe to say that Ellis has not performed well. Combine his company's performance with over $10 million in compensation, and you get the worst-performing CEO in America.
