I did a big reshuffle of my main portfolio and my IRA a couple weeks ago. Dumped tech/dogs/laggards and moved money into income. The funds I moved into are PDT, HPI, HPF, HPS, and EAD. All closed end funds. I also put some more into MAIN, which is a neat monthly dividend play in the lending/investment sector. I put all these divvies in the DRIP program and I'm excited to see how this plays out. I think I've got the start of a great cash cow going.

Why buy AT&T and have single stock risk ? PDT has a yield of 9.11% vs T yield of 7.73%. HTD is also a better option.

Huge capital gain distribution this year. Great for Roth investments.

Thoughts on this fund? been eyeballing for a couple weeks now. Seems like a good fund for steady income
T
Great fund. Don't know what caused it to jump today, 3/31/21?
M
Small capital gain distribution illustrates the payout was fully covered for 2019. Good news.

PDT has been a solid monthly payer. Who knows what really makes stocks move. This site is great for researching CEFs. http://www.cefconnect.com/fund/PDT

Since this is a Dividend fund I wonder why Yahoo has stopped listing the Dividend in the summary?!
Bullish

Question and forgive my ignorance, this has a yield of around 7.3%. but I see fees of ~2%. Wouldn't our actual return be a little over 5% not over 7% ? Or is the 2 % fees already factored in and it is indeed 7% ? Thanks all!

Going back up! Great Long Term Stock!

Slow move back up! Be patient longs! That nice dividend always puts a smile on my face!

I have owned this since 2008 and don't really look at it very hard. It just does well and pays a nice dividend.
But I just looked up the NAV and it is in the mid $15 range. We are selling at almost a $3 premium.
Can that really last?
I mean current buyers are paying close to $1.16 for every dollar of assets they are buying. Just wow!

PDT + ALPP + Aabbg New Gold-backed crypto.
Bullish

I bought 600 shares @ $16.37 today. It's in an account where everything pays strong dividends and I am using the divvies to pay off a debt. This will put $700 towards the debt per year. It looks like a great, dependable fund.

New press release - dividend covered - no return of capital

GLTA! and have a great 2022!

Why the big drop today? Not a ex dividend day? Any ideas?
S
Nice way to finish a Friday, can someone explain this stock to me. Is it for retirement funds? Looking to start a dividend portfolio
N
Started a position last week 2,700 shares, also have position in HPS 3,200 shares. I know there is some overlap between the 2 funds but I am hanging onto both of them & will add on price declines.
S
Time to buy ahead of monthly dividend date. 7% is always nice income!
