Great move today and no news. Perhaps, the stock just realizes own potential.

This stock is a long term disappointment... can the company initiate a buy back program?????

Conference call transcript does not show any bad surprises. Everything looks very solid, including strong forward guidance. It looks like this post-release drop was just a trick produced by algos.

Solid earnings release. In-line earnings number, better-than-estimate revenues. Good guidance, a bit better than estimates. In total, good results now and growth prospectives ahead.

Long 4500 shares of PLAB at $12.53. This is an Earnings play, I expect a positive Earnings report tomorrow morning, beats on EPS and Revenue consensus estimates, along with good Guidance, to propel this stock up to the $13.00 level. Company is well-managed, profitable, not TOO overvalued for a techie, and the worldwide demand for their products is growing.

Just for the record with 67,070,000 shares outstanding and last quarter a .13 earnings that means the book value keeps being driven up.. with last quarter earning of 8,719,100.00 dollars yet it keeps going down. next quarter it will be even more....Like I said this stock is being overlooked.

THIS could be the start of good things to come,, volume is key here with a northern direction based on the health of the company which is best ever for this company.

Out PLAB at $15.00 for one of my best pure 1 day, 1 stock Earnings plays ever! Do the math: Went long 4500 at $12.53 yesterday. Sold 4500 today at $15.00 using a Stop Sell order. I was away from my computer all day long, doing manual labor for $16.00/hr. But it worked out GREAT! Currently long LULU at $233.38, so that one is not doing so great, but still, one of my best days ever!

The expectation for 2018, as described in the transcript, is that revenues will continue to grow more or less incrementally, and capital expenses will be high as new facilities are built out in China. The bottom line will not look good, and uninformed investors will wrongly jump to the conclusion that business is bad. Others will just be impatient. Either way, the share price may languish for some time, but the reality is much better than the perception. When new production comes on line in early 2019, sales/revenues will increase at a much faster pace, capex will mostly go away (I think?), and the bottom line will spike. My plan is to hold what I have and double it late next year.

Photronics is a relatively under-covered supplier to semiconductor manufacturers. Photronics manufactures photomasks, which are used in the chip production process.
Historically, it hasn’t been a great business. Mask production has moved in-house at major manufacturers like Intel, limiting the market for external suppliers like Photronics. As a result, PLAB stock has traded mostly sideways, and missed out on the big rally in the space.
But Photronics looks positioned to finally jumpstart growth. Two new facilities in China should make the company the major supplier to the growing industry in that country. Flat-panel display growth at key customer Samsung provides another driver, and new nodes in IC (integrated circuit) will need new masks as well.
Meanwhile, PLAB is exceedingly cheap, has a strong balance sheet and is priced for pretty much negative growth after a recent pullback. Barring a major escalation of the trade war in China, PLAB should be able to grind higher over the next few quarters.

With both DOW and NASDAQ up significantly and smaller growth stocks surging, PLAB goes the opposite way. Unreal.
This not merely reflects the recent downgrade, but fundamental problems. With so much reliance on China and even built two factories there, it may not to be the most prudent way to go, now that it is well known stealing trade secret is their MO and how easily for them to set up similar factories to supply its own industry. There is reason for its low performance and will continue in months to come, if not years.

Finally, strong earnings and strong guidance. This stock can go much higher, providing that no serious Chinese trade disruptions hamper the process.

It would be better to miss this quarter and guide higher for next, opposite what the company did. However, business is quite profitable and balance sheet strong. Let see market reactions.

Stock lost exactly one-month gain today. It is regretful. It is a shareholder unfriendly company. Perhaps, share price would jump at once if top management ousted, Hope some activist fund manager notices this situation.
Disregarding thoughts above, it is not the end of world situation. Business is profitable and balance sheet is super strong. Downside risk is very low now, while upside always look right around the corner with this equity.

Has anyone read the Earnings Call Transcript, which is talking about Huawei and that the company will be the first to use the high quality displays in next year's next generation of phones? But I'm not sure if I got it right, will Huawei order from PLAB?

What we are experiencing today is a Live Cat Fall. It is the opposite of a dead cat bounce. A cat always has to get up higher than the landing spot before it lands. The cat is still alive though.

This must be one of the most boring stock on the market. I looked at the 5 yrs chart for historical purposes, and found out that this was trading close to $11 back in 2016, and now it is trading around $12. A bigggly increase of a dollar. Wow!!!
