Over reaction buying opportunity? Utility company dont generally go bankrupt. If anything, we'll see a price collapse and then a buyout. Regardless,, people will HAVE to have electricity.

The accounts may provide clues about the cause of one of Oregon’s largest wildfires, which remains under investigation.

1.) Just plan Bankruptcy was proven easier for ENRON and POR is very familiar to the process.
2.) Have not came out yet with a Full Investigation on the 125M Trading Loss Yet.
3.) Now may hundreds of millions if not billions of loss and lawsuits coming based on (non-factual) but may be deemed factual evidence that POR equipment caused Oregon Fires. Only takes one "Yes" instance and POR is Bankrupt.

So lets compare POR and First Energy. First Energy(FE) stock dropped from $42.00 to $22.00 on just an acquisition that it may have used $68M (Not a $125M Hard Dollar Trading Loss like POR) to sway an Ohio Regulator. The Stock dropped $20.00, without a single loss to it's revenue or Balance Sheet. Yet POR which took a $125M Hard Dollar Loss and could potentially go Bankrupt over the Oregon Fires, if found guilty has only dropped $10. This stock at best is a $15 to $20 stock, if it does not declare Bankruptcy. Also, who knows the Price Tag it will see on the Oregon Fires. Should see another $15.00 shed from this one next week.

So many other beaten down energy stocks to go into that pay better dividends. Not worth it. Cut losses take the Class Action Per Share Payout and call it a day.

The phones will be ringing off the hook at all those Class Action Lawsuit Attorney's offices today for sure. Still no disclosure from the firm and if it a criminal matter. I'm sure somebody knows something more now based on todays activity. Not safe to BUY to $22 maybe.

Big firm news today, POR announced its detailed performance in the past year. The stated profits include earnings collected (cash flows) and those not yet collected (accruals). Accruals are thus the firm’s forecast of future benefits. see http://www.financial-education-hub.com/1/POR. The forecast, in any case, isn't great and as a rule has mistakes. Sometimes, companies may increase accruals to inflate profits. As such, high accruals may be a signal of low future income. Based on this, whereas two firms report the same earnings, the one with higher accruals would perform worse next period. To know the quality of $POR ’s reported earnings, You can use the method at http://www.financial-education-hub.com/2/POR to calculate the firm’s accruals level, and the portion that may not be able to be collected in cash.

Attractive company in that it has no nuclear exposure.
