TriMet unveiled its first battery-electric bus on Tuesday. Inc. (NEE) on Wednesday said they will build a new energy facility in eastern Oregon that will co-locate and integrate wind and solar generation and battery storage. The companies said the project, called the Wheatridge Renewable Energy Facility, will combine 300 megawatts of wind generation, 50 megawatts of solar generation and 30 megawatts of battery storage. Portland General will own 100 megawatts of the wind project, while NextEra, which will build and operate the facility, will own the balance of the project and sell its output to Portland General under 30-year power purchase agreements, the companies said.
