Very large short interest , high PE , slowing earnings & tax loss selling could be reason for SP decline? Any thoughts?

Can anyone guide me. Why did it fall from ATH of above $210 to a level of $53 within a year?

As a lot of people are bullish on this stock with a 98% of institutional holdings, but it's falling since a year continuously. So I am a bit worried and want to know the exact reason of this fall.

This is going to be a $5 by year end. Sell now and get out. I just sold my and took a Hugh loss. Needs a New CEO. I don't see a bright future in near term.

When are we getting a NEW CEO? The current management team don't care about the investors as long as they get their salaries. Like to know what is your thought on the new CEO is.

If 3D manufacturing was a olympic event. In 10 years you will have Stratasys , 3D and some other company on the podium with companies becoming self sufficient with their own printers. But meanwhile you need someone to carry the torch at the opening and that’s Protolabs

1st ) warehouse investing like amazon is rough , especially in covid restriction years. (so im not scared of this price stepback ) People who are « short » are going to get burned.
Seen it with Snapchat , Nutrien just to name a few. They don’t understand the market.

2nd) It will lead the way in protectionist manufacturing.
This company is the one leading the way for even more people to open businesses from home. You want the unemployment market go down ? This is where Gen Z will help the numbers get low levels.

A creative artist (or a team with entrepreneurial skills ) will send his image to a Protolab engineer, receive his prototype the same day , then order X amount and sell them on Amazon .

You could even do this as a side job…
Oh no I've said too much

Proto Labs (NYSE: PRLB), a leading digital contract manufacturer, is slated to report its fourth-quarter and full-year 2020 results before the market opens on Friday, Feb. 12. As it usually does, the company (which offers both traditional manufacturing and 3D printing services) will kick off the quarterly earnings season for the 3D printing space. Pure-play 3D printing company 3D Systems is scheduled to release its official results on Wednesday, Feb. 24, while fellow pure-play Stratasys hasn't yet announced a date for its release. As with many companies that serve customers in the industrial sector, Proto Labs' business has been hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic. But the company has done a good job navigating this challenging crisis, and has easily beat Wall Street's earnings expectations in each of the first three quarters of 2020.

I have been buying. This is an excellent longterm play. I am confident that the share price will turnaround in the longterm. Digital manufacturing and 3D printing in America and less reliance on foreign countries is the future.

Does anyone know what is going on? PRLB is down an astounding $200 from its high. Investing for over 40 years, I've never seen such negative action.
