Nasdaq is just starting to fall. It was over 14,100. Now, it has slightly dipped to 12,400. Oil prices are up more than 75% in the most recent 6 months. Transportation costs are rising. Many jobs will be coming back. Restaurant prices are also rising, property prices are rising. Transportation costs have just begun to rise. Every company is claiming they are going to grow strongly.

If jobs come back, there will be enormous inflation increase. 10-year bond is up by 2X in the past 6 months. Huge inflation surge is in the pipeline already. Fed got behind the curve on this surge in inflation and made it worse. Debts are up. Immediately, the Fed needs to raise rates by at least 1% this month. The party of inflation (democrats) wants to pump up stimulus. If the Federal government puts out stimulus, this will make the surge of inflation far worse. Powell will have to implement a 2% fed funds rate increase, just to slow the huge inflation that is already coming.

This slowing by the Fed will crush Nasdaq stocks. Especially any stock that is within 20% of it hugely inflated all-time high. Many stocks will drop to 10% of their current value. It will be brutal. Bankruptcies are on the way. Marriages will end due to strife. People who have put borrowed money into the stock market will be worthless, and others will be nearly worthless.

    Nasdaq going below 5000. Beware!

Wow, CPI starting huge surge. Terrible report card for control of inflation. Inflation has now climbed more than 2X. The comsumer price index has risen to a 4.8% annualized rate. Such a fast rise is clearly looking scary for the overheating market that the Fed has gotten behind on. Energy price have risen 75%. Food prices are rising significantly too now. Cash is getting watered down as government auctions off $50 billion more of 10-year bonds. That is a terrible move. Money supply is excessive. The exponential increase of inflation at 1.3X sequential increases per month (from 0.24% in Dec 2020, to 0.3% in Jan 2021, to 0.4% in Feb 2021 are enormous sequential increases in inflation). Recall an annualized 4.8% is already beyond the Fed's comfort range. We will be at 6% annualized rate from the March CPI data when it comes out in early April). If the party of inflation (Dems) puts out a stimulus package in March, this is like putting gasoline on an already growing fire. Inflation is going to trounce the people of color the most. Terrible inflation already out of control, terrible for the hyped stocks, but good for QID!

Inflation is here to stay. I got a raise like so many others. My boss has to charge more just to stay even. If the boss takes my raise back I will quit and get a job with his competition for as much or more. Inflation is here to stay.

I noticed a lot of posts about the returns not corresponding exactly to the inverse of the corresponding index. I found this excerpt online that provides an explanation:

"During periods of high market volatility, leveraged and inverse products are uniquely at risk of massive price swings that don't always match up to investor expectations.

That's because these funds don’t offer exposure to some multiplier of the total return of their underlying indexes, but rather offer exposure to some multiplier of the daily return of those indexes.

As a result, disparities between underlying index and ETP price quickly compound, even in highly trending markets, such as what we've seen lately.

This phenomenon is often mistaken for volatility, but it's really path dependence that makes leveraged and inverse funds diverge persistently from their underlying benchmarks. Note that leveraged and inverse ETFs can go haywire even in sideways, low-volatility markets."

A chart of ANY time period for this ETF has the same trajectory - down. Look at the day, the week, the month, year, or any number of years. It's all the same. You would think it would at some point have a reversal.
