    Dividend payable today?

A website I follow recommended RA. However, in reviewing its stats, I have two concerns. Since the fund's inception about 5 years ago, it has been selling for a discount to its NAV up until only a few days ago, and now its price is running almost 5% above NAV. Most closed end funds sell at a discount to NAV. Also, while the dividend is attractive, 1/3 of the dividend since inception has been a Return of Capital. Does anyone care to comment on these two concerns?

ROC is great if you are carrying loses on your federal return. You will most likely pay no taxes until you use up all of your loses or your cost basis goes to zero.

Hi guys. Just sold off an under-performing CEF to buy into RA...toes in first. I like your enthusiasm and hope that the dividend holds up thru my retirement.

I am back into RA with a bigger share then before.

Pretty much going to hold this the rest of my life i figure. Brings up the average dividend for the portfolio and brings nice correlation with the rest of the assets in my portfolio

No reason to panic people. It’s just an asset exchange for stock. This will be better than before.

Brookfield is one of the well managed companies. This stock might drop temporarily but a solid investment for monthly income.

Will the Reorganization impact Fund distributions to stockholders?

    A:
INF and RA currently pay a monthly distribution of $0.0817 per share and $0.1990 per share, respectively. Based on each Fund’s NAV price as of September 30, 2019, the exchange ratio at which common shares of INF would have converted to common shares of the Combined Fund is 0.63213 (i.e., assuming the Reorganization was consummated following the market close on September 30, 2019, INF stockholders would have received 0.63213 shares of the Combined Fund). Based on these terms, following the Reorganization, a stockholder in INF would go from receiving a monthly distribution of $0.0817 per share in INF to receiving a monthly distribution of $0.1258 in the Combined Fund (i.e., for the same investment amount). A stockholder in RA would continue to receive a monthly distribution of $0.1990 per share.
