After two sailings on Carnival Cruise Line, the first cruises I had ever taken, Royal Caribbean's casino started sending me offers for sailings. Generally, these were for three- or four-day sailings on midsize ships or longer ones on older ships. Once I did my first sailing on the cruise line's Independence of the Seas, a typical example of the middle tier of Royal's fleet, I was more or less hooked.
Nobody, even the pickiest eater, has ever gone hungry on a Royal Caribbean or Carnival cruise. Both cruise lines include breakfast, lunch, and dinner in the main dining room, round-the-clock pizza, access to a buffet for three meals a day, and usually at least one or two other free dining options. In the past year, however, both cruise lines have made some major dining changes.
Royal Caribbean, Carnival and other cruise lines have set sail heading into the holidays, with many near buy points after impressive gains.
