Someone on this column mentioned never short when momentum is showing the stock going higher.
And also never buy when the stock is on a downward path.

Right now - wait till this stocks hits $26.

My cost basis is still $8.05, so I'm still up 619%. Took profits on the way up this summer, selling off high basis shares. It's all good ... house money now.

A small analysis on solar on CNBC:
    1. Even Biden wins - democrats need to win senate to pass meaningful legislation
    2. Even if Biden wins along with Senate-
Jobs are needed immediately. Solar rebates doesnot create immediate jobs. They would rather focus on other ideas to create immediate jobs.
    3. If Trump wins- all bets off.
In the end Sunrun will drop no matter who wins.

My cost basis is $16 on this, and I have captured profits along the way so I can afford to ride this while it finds it's equilibrium. I think there's a lot of FUD going on here, and shorts hoping to manipulate sentiment. I'm holding this at 7% of my portfolio after having reduced my position twice as it rose to $80, then dropped back down to $65 range.
Yes, it's overvalued in a sense, but nobody's investing in solar for their current-day profits. Everyone is speculating on the future of solar, hoping to ride it up as it slowly becomes our dominant form of energy production. The reality if this is up in the air, but that hardly matters in the short term.
What matters now is whether people THINK these companies will rise to dominance and profitability. Have they positioned themselves within the industry to succeed? If their business model isn't going to work, can they buy up new companies? Can they negotiate with their foothold in the industry? Can they strike deals with bigger companies and get government contracts?
If you think the answer is yes for SunRun, then buy it. If you think the answer is no, sell and go away.
This is a buy and hold stock, and the meteoric rise in these last two months was just icing on the cake for those of us who've been holding for a long time. To me, $40 looks good because it's still 2.5x my cost basis. Anyone here calling it trash could not have been here for more than two months.
If you're day trading, good luck guessing the direction of the winds on any given day. I'm holding long.

Congrats to the old timers here. Haven't checked the board in a long time. I sold out of most of mine around 40 over the summer, but still hold a few. What an amazing run.

Yes solar is the future, but for the right price. RUN got way ahead of itself, valuation wise. It need to go trade closer to $40 to truly reflect its value and the inherent risks involved in a business that historically has had thin if any margins.

As a former Vivint Holder. RUN is a major disappointment. Lost about 30% from a great run with Viv. Still up, but disgusted by the trend with this trend now.

Sunrun has been falling on heavy volume this month, which could be a sign that institutions are losing faith in this stock. I'm going to avoid Sunrun for now.
