2022 revenue estimates come in around $170m (software plus drug discovery revenue) and that puts the stock at roughly 12.5x forward revenue. Oh, and at this point, their $750m in cash and cash equivalents is roughly a third of the total valuation.

Does anyone think this is expensive for a company with huge upside opportunities in 2023 and beyond? The BMY deal alone has $2.7B in payouts plus royalties.

Can it drop to 2x book or around $16-$17? I mean...I guess.

    It's definitely a head-scratcher, though.

All I know is that big pharma has a ton of cash. And this sector is toast until one of the Big Boys ponies up some cash for an acquisition. After a dismal M&A year in 2021, I feel like one big deal will open up the floodgates, and that will pump some takeout premium back into the stocks in this sector.

    And so we wait...

The founder sold out. Does anyone believe in his software to speed drug discovery? I mean any faster than the software already being used for drug discovery?

Apparently, $28.50 is the support. For the moment, anyway. That's a mere 77% drop from the top.

    Just a flesh wound...

Pretty amazing that this company is being valued at just over $2B when the upside opportunity is so enormous.

I can't help but think the market is making a faulty calculation here.

Why buy an "experimental" company when you have the premier theoretical tools? What does this say about the premise of SDGR's strategy?

I just bought 600 shares. More of a rental than a buy. Let's see if there's a bounce here in the market. If not, yikes, things could get really ugly really fast.

I just listened to the talk they gave at MS recently. You can find it here:

I think there is a ridiculous amount of upside for this company which the market is discounting to nothing. Sure, they're spending money on research for themselves. But if they make any kind of progress on solid tumors, this stock will explode.

Plus, if they can make another deal like the BMS deal they made for $2.6B which has something like $1.6B in milestone payments before they even get to commercializing the product, the stock will jump.

I see this company having lots of ways in which things can work out for them.

Right now, the stock looks awful. Biotech is general is trailing the market by 30%. But if you remember, there was a research report from Citron last year comparing SDGR to TSLA. That's how game-changing this can be.

Short term, the market is a voting machine. And this stock has been voted off the island:-) But long term, the market is a weighing machine, and this company's true substance and value ultimately shine through.

    I'm accumulating.

    My two cents FWIW.

Well, this thing is trading like garbage. I guess it's just not yet time to go long. Maybe we get a dip into the $25 area before it bottoms out. That seems a bit severe, but with this market, you just never know.
