    SeaWorld to pay $65 million to settle lawsuits

    SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. disclosed Tuesday that it will pay $65 million to settle a class action lawsuit that alleged violations of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, which regulates secondary trading of securities. SeaWorld said the settlement of the "Baker v. SeaWorld Entertainment, Inc., et al" suit "does not include or constitute an admission, concession or finding of any fault, liability or wrongdoing by the company or any defendant." SeaWorld also announced a settlement of the putative derivative lawsuit captioned " Kistenmacher v. Atchison, et al," with SeaWorld set to receive $12.5 million of insurance proceeds to be used to adopt corporate governance modifications and for general corporate purposes. The stock, which was still inactive in premarket trading, has run up 21.4% over the past three months, while the S&P 500 has gained 8.6%.
