    Back to buying: Mitel makes $430 million acquisition

    Mitel (MITL) said Thursday that it has entered into an agreement to buy ShoreTel (SHOR) for $430 million, putting momentum behind the company’s push back into its core business. Mitel, which has its North American headquarters in Plano, will acquire 100 percent of ShoreTel’s outstanding shares and become number two in the Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) market, the company said in a news release. Mitel CEO Rich McBee will serve as CEO of the combined company.
