BP, which is moving its headquarters for its Lower 48 division to Denver in 2018, announced Monday that it’s hit a highly productive field in New Mexico, just across the Colorado border. Early production rates on the horizontal well in northwestern New Mexico, called the NEBU 602 Com 1H, “are the highest achieved in the past 14 years in the San Juan Basin,” the company said in a statement Monday. Over the first 30 days of its life, the well produced an average of 12.9 million cubic feet per day, BP said.
