Brilliant! SLCA's industrial business is probably worth at least 12X EBITDA if not even 15X 2022 expectations. This is a high quality business with now proprietary growth products. I would just as happy with a spin-out as I think a great business to own. But I think there would be a lot of buyer interest because of the more stable cash flow profile and low interest rates. This news will also likely result in "net" short covering (which granted is just a short-term blip), but nice to see nonetheless as not too many shorts want to be around if SLCA sells at big price. SLCA still has a lot of debt and so shorters betting on equity issue or just not good enough earnings. But ISP can take-on a huge amount of debt given its stable cash flows. So thinking why sell when SLCA can create its own highly levered vehicle for existing shareholders to enjoy to own.

Should be another great quarter because of just oil drilling increase from last year. Increase of 240 from this time last year according to oil services Baker Hughes.
    Bullish

Come on, with these gas prices SLCA should have been at 12$. End of this month a positive earnings comm for sure. After winter, it will benefit from infrastructure works materials demand.

This stock sits between an energy play as well as basic materials. With WTI over $75 and a $3.5 T infrastructure bull coming….how / why are we not absolutely melting up?!?

Q3 should be fine, break even results or better. Look for a drift up in SP in next 10 days. High NG and ol prices may lead to an optimistic CC for Q4. I"m hoping for 20 by EOY.

SLCA is on a list of 10 stocks with the potential of big gains after they sold off. The list was on home page of Yahoo Finance Saturday afternoon.

OIL at 75, i'm confused why SLCA is at 8 (should be double this). Still expecting good Q3 numbers, which should be out around halloween.

Look at volume. Usually by 10;30 am almost any stock on normal day will have traded 1/3 of its avg. daily volume. Today's volume looks huge.

@Julian...look at #GSM, one of few silicon metal producers. China called Force Majeure on exports few days ago. Not sure why I didn't catch that one. Trying to reopen Alabama plant. Just stepping in...not too thrilled they closed down Spain ops due to electricity prices, especially since they seemed to have sold Spanish hydro electricity ops just a few years ago. Both this and #SLCA good way to play supply chains coming back closer to end user/infrastructure bill/inflation gl...scary month of October.

Storing energy with silica sand seems to be gaining steam as a less expensive option to lithium batteries. This could double the demand or more.
