The end is near. Up to 60% off now and anything remotely desirable is long gone!

Stein Mart's shutdown is kind of sad. Where will older shoppers look for cheap polyester suits that look hideously outdated??? Where will the blue haired old biddies go to buy their super sized bags of potpourri??? And what will soon-to-be-ex Stein Mart executives do to wile the hours away??? I thought that Stein Mart did an outstanding job of keeping many hapless retail buyers and management from hanging out on street corners. Perhaps the federal government can institute a jobs program to retrain these Stein Mart higher ups to do something useful like clean up along highways or painting murals.

They still have their website, in talk with buyers, stores are still open liquidating sales, paying off debt.. so that’s good news.

    Many car dealerships
Many airlines filed bankruptcy and bounced back. Not saying this will. But I’ve seen it happen.

Stein Mart Chairman Stein Jay is filing to sell 13.18M shares. Other Directors also selling stakes. Be wary potential investors. Did anyone see Target's amazing quarter?!

A special note to Linda T: Thank you for putting up with all the cranky and sometimes not-so-nice SMRT sharehders. Their expectations were often over the top and their language sometimes unbusinesslike. You did an excellent job keeping SMRT sharehders informed. Best of luck on your future endeavors.

People are hyping it so it becomes a pump and dump and people can get out. All stores were just closed and chapter 11 filed.

Excuse me but didn't SMRT have a buyout offer lined up that was going to pay all non-insider shareholders 90 cents a share??? What happened? Thirty cents is a far call from 90. What gives???

Remember the poor sap who said that he had SMRT stock in his retirement account and said that he would suffer financially in his old age if the previous Kingswood offer was accepted? I wonder what he's thinking right now.
