Earlier this month, Montana became the first state in the U.S. to ban the popular short-form video app TikTok. And now the company has filed a lawsuit against the state. “We believe that the Montana bill that was recently passed is simply unconstitutional,” TikTok CEO Shou Zi Chew said at the Qatar Economic Forum. “We very recently filed a lawsuit to challenge this in the courts, and we are confident that we will prevail.” U.S. lawmakers have expressed concerns that the Chinese government may po

There has been a great deal of AI industry news this year. However, at least in the business-news media, most of the attention has been narrowly focused on several areas. Specifically, those media outlets have focused on the ways in which AI will affect Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Alphabet (NASDAQ:GOOG). And, of course, the phenomenon of ChatGPT, which appears to have largely been taken over by Microsoft. Finally, a great deal of ink has been spilled about Nvidia’s (NASDAQ:NVDA) status as a supp
Meta Platforms (META) launches WhatsApp edit your messages feature, which allows users to edit messages within 15 minutes after sending.
Most of the tech stocks that were amidst a selloff at the same time last year have rallied impressively in 2023. The two biggest tech companies are close to surpassing their peaks back in 2021, while others like Meta Platforms (NASDAQ:META) and Netflix (NASDAQ:NFLX) have more than doubled their value from their troughs. Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) has nearly tripled its value since October. These tech giants are only some of the best tech stocks to buy now. Of course, not all tech stocks were blessed w
Snap (NYSE:SNAP) has gone from an up-and-coming name in the social media space, to arguably an “also ran” within the sector. This has resulted in a dramatic price decline for SNAP stock over the past two years. Late last month, a poorly received quarterly earnings report (more below) sent shares down to multi-year lows. However, in more recent days, the stock has experienced what can be best described as a “snapback.” In a matter of days, SNAP has made up for the bulk of its post-earnings losses

Growth stocks were hot earlier this year, and some growth names are still relatively hot, as they have delivered much better Q1 year-over-year earnings growth metrics compared to 2022. However, I’d argue that most growth names are currently trading near a fair valuation right now, with some growth names like Nvidia (NASDAQ:NVDA) trading at very steep prices. That said, there are still some bargains in the market you should snap up before they pull off a similar recovery. Many growth stocks that

Even with the latest 25 basis point hike, the stock market seems to have digested the news and many anticipate that this is the last rate hike before the Federal Reserve chooses to pause. The interest rate is just slightly above the inflation rate, and the distresses in the banking sector have caused additional tightening due to changes in loan policy. Still, Core CPI remains very sticky at 5.6% and if that continues to rise, we may very well see one more hike to a terminal rate of 5.5%. Many ar
