Let's all take a moment to appreciate the quietness on this board........ It will not last much longer. I've attempted to post a few links recently, but for some reason it's not allowing me. Be sure to check out the most recent news posted by SYNA. I become increasingly excited to own shares, accumulating as often as possible. GL my fellow share holders.

Synaptics is behind the game on OLED IC drivers and will not get the iPhone 13. I think the investment community realizes there is a strong chance Magnachip OLED Driver IC will be in the Phone13. Listen to the Needham call, he talks about the recent news of the iPhone13 using LPTO technology and having 120hz refresh rate and YJ says they support LPTO technology and MXs 28 nm already supports HDR, 120HZ and LPTO...who else has the leading edge technology like MX?

Also, looks like MX is partnering with TSMC foundry for additional 28nm chips. Apple requires multiple supply sources so they are not impacted by one foundry issue. This stock is still way under valued.

Synaptics getting into OLED DDICs in 2021, so why don't they just buy Magnachip? Michael Hurlston SYNA CEO in Dec: "...our display driver business in our OLED handsets and high-end handsets is 0. And so we've got to go figure out as a company, how we can revitalize that. We just brought in a new engineering leader who's
got great ideas in that regard. And we think we've got some differentiators we can bring to bear in our
OLED DDICs. And to stimulate more growth in mobile, I think we've got to be more meaningful in display

From Magnachip Q3 earnings call - they have the OLED IC Drivers Synaptics wishes they had. From Magnachip's CEO - Symbol (MX)5G momentum: We are enjoying the booming 5G smartphone industry especially with High Frame Rate (HFR) OLED #$%$ In 5 Q3, we were awarded 8 new design wins, and 7 of them were 5G and HFRmodels using 28 nm process. You may recall that our revenue from 5G smartphones counted for about 20% of the total OLED revenue in 1H 2020. In Q3, 5G revenue represented about 40% of the OLED revenue. According to the market data, the global 5G smartphone shipment in 2020 will be about200 million units, and it will likely to be more than double in 2021.

Who has this OLED Driver win in the iPhone 13 - not Synaptics.....most likely Magnachip

Funny business this stock market game. Synaptics receives a nice Price Target increase, and promptly drops $5.50. Wild.
  • S
SYNA CEO says margins/pricing in OLED #$%$ s are quite strong with supply crunch and need to replace LDC chip revenue, says there is a ?tactical opportunity? - could this mean a MagnaChip acquisition MX?

SYNA named best idea for 2021 by Needham. I post very infrequently but I am surprised there isn't more chatter on this board. Underfollowed and under owned stock.
  • K
Just check SYNA statistics. Found institution holder 103.5% and insider holds just over 1%. Add up to 104.5%! Shouldn't it be at most 100%? However, there's about 11% of short. It is very dangerous for the shorters as they can easily be squeezed.

People saw the demo at CES and are finally convinced. The success of the in-display fingerprint sensor is not priced into this stock.

Right...I guess my question is what share price are we talking about "if" a deal does get panned out? They said no to the last offer. At some point this thing could get so pricey that there isn't any profits left on the plate. If they dont accept a fair share price again (historically they've turned down other offers), then you've left with a $40 stock at $56 paid
  • R
$65-75 buy out price at least.

Saw a SEC Form 4 today for a Frances F Lee, named as a Director of Synaptics, Seems he cashed in his Employee Stock Options on Friday. Bought 63,141 shares at the exercise price of $24.33 and then turned around and sold them the same day for $46. Can someone explain why he would do that if there was a potential buyout for $59+?
  • T
Wow, what's happening in last 10 mins....up 10+% then dropped back down....
  • J
Just curious. Can/will Dialog issue debt of $2+ billion to pay for SYNA in cash? That’s what it’ll take.
