Long $trtn. How do container leasing stocks perform when interest rates are rising? Can they pass on higher financing costs to their customers, or do their margins compress? Have $trtn, $tgh, and others cutback on capital spend on new containers to respond to slowing ocean shipping volumes, or is it too late, already committed to new container inventory and utilization will decline?

Awful day for them! Should have sold early on today!
Keep on seeing higher PTs but when?

Shares are now trading at only 70% of book value. There is no counter party risk anymore as their customers are all flush with cash like no time in history. Average lease tenor is rapidly increasing and the company is generating enough cash to buy back 5% of their shares every quarter.

Company bought back 3% of outstanding shares during the quarter. At this rate, the last person to sell their shares will own the whole company in 8 years. With shares trading at 80% of book value, lower capex and cash flow locked in on long term contracts, the company plans to continue to aggressively buy back.

IT was a strong quarterly report and good guidance for next quarter. It's unfortunate the report came out on such a down day for the market. Look for stock to recover and move back up.

With ports around the World starting to ban shipping Co.'s from bringing in empties, TGH becomes a screaming buy. I am taking a cautious approach selling August $25 puts. Our friend Alpha Investor two months ago posted 10 highest conviction stocks - it should be reduced to two - I only have high conviction in GSL & TGH.

Love the upside and safe-bet TGH & this sector presents. Big infrastructure investments & the rising tide of post-covid economic re-opening bode especially well for $TGH $TRTN $CAI $WSC $MGRC

Very basic and unsexy, but rock solid thru foreseeable.
    Bullish

Very quiet on this board. Did anyone catch the huge upside breakout on TGH today? I have owned TGH for a while and pleased with today's action. With today's move, and volume, It looks like some institutions may have "discovered" it!!
    Bullish

Bought some for regular and retirement account(s). Don't understand the stock price behavior but this thing moves enough to play trade and also invest for long term. This thing seems very undervalued but who knows? Should be like $50. Maybe someday.
    Bullish

New to container leasing, long trtn. Why would newbie want to buy $tgh or $cai when $trtn offers lower PE valuation AND pays 4% dividend? Which of the three stocks have delivered best total return for investors over the last 1, 3, 5 years, and which of the three are expected to deliver the best total return going fwd? Is best strategy own $trtn long term, swing trade $tgh and $cai?

The reason why we are not trading at a fair p/e based on our growth is people don’t believe they can maintain growth or our profits however the CEO covered this info... “While new container prices are currently at historically high levels, the average price of our upcoming 2021 orders is well below current levels and are substantially all pre-committed to leases with an average duration in excess of 10 years. These container investments will secure a stable stream of additional cash flows and profits over the next several years.“

seems this should keep on moving up with orders and back ups . container income increases when they must pay more to sit and wait to get off boat and wait for trucks. leasing cost increases .
maybe dividend again? all good news and higher .

I do like the lack of attention this stock gets both here and from mainstream investor media as most don't understand what a great value play this is for many years into future.

I have bought and sold TGH and sold when I was 15-20% up. I'm raising my expectations and plan to buy again, just can't decide where this stock is going 🤔 any suggestions..
