"Pentwater Capital and SailingStone Capital are expected in the coming days to lobby ISS to recommend that shareholders vote against the deal, according to a Dealreporter item on Wednesday. ISS is likely to make its recommendation in mid-to-late October, with shareholders scheduled to vote Nov. 1."

Not sure what I would do with http://alert-sounds.com/! Their daily emails keep me up to date on the best stocks to watch and have made all the difference for me as an investor!

With 81.65% of the 49% held by 212 institutions, I can't think of a single reason why any of them would vote to sell their shares for less than half of what they are worth. Maybe some of the 18.35% of other owners will vote yes because they think a "bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush," but I think it is going to be a 95% no vote forcing RIO to re-evaluate their offer. Regardless, we don't need to sell to RIO for a meager amount because future earnings and cash flows will make our holding worth 2-3 times in the next 5 years.

I received an unknown call from Toronto yesterday, it was a guy reading a prepared message from Rio trying to explain why the buyout was in my best interest. He knew my name. When I finished swearing he apologized for bothering me. I would not have answered phone if I wasn’t expecting a call from someone else. Area code 416. Don’t answer it or have some fun!

Looks like the obvious move would be to sell TRQ and buy RIO at today’s prices.

Nice gain so far on low volume. Possibly Pentwater has convinced other funds to buy as well.

Of the 98,000,000 minority shares Pentwater and Sailingstone own 33% and a NO VOTE. That means only 1/3 of the remaining minority institutional and private shareholders need to vote NO. My 25,000 shares are a NO.

Does anyone have actually real news about the deal or numbers on the mining operations. Its been crickets from both sides.

NO to these offensive buyout offers!

RIO screwed up the timeline, and therefore the budget of the mine. Now, they try to buy this literal goldmine for a fraction of its future value based on their (intentional?) failure.

How is this in any shareholder's best interest? You owe part of a goldmine, folks!

So what would be a fair price for TRQ? I would think $50 range. If all the future plans workout and no more government or employee problems. Think atleast BV is the bottom.

don't get fake out from increasing lack of volumes in TRQ shares as markets continue to skate on thin ice with the sell-off.....U/G is getting ready to gush cashflows and Tainto has NO OTHER choice for growth outside of FE (which is in DECLINE)....TRQ a winner over the next 3-6months with upward catalysts and bid support!!!!

Why doesn't Pentwater put in a competing offer?

Why has TRQ not pursued debt reprofiling despite it being stated ?
"Pursuing the rescheduling of principal repayments of existing debt (Re-profiling) to potentially reduce the base case incremental funding requirement by up to $1.7 billion;"[1]

    [1]trq_combined_fs-mda_q2'22.pdf
Of the $3.8 USD billion "debt" stated in Goldman Sacks "valuation" of TRQ approx $1.7USD billion could potentially be taken out of the valuation model!
