My TRTN model suggests that EPS in Q2 will be at least $1.85, attributable to "very low disposal volumes" (that last part was in the presentation). Further, I value the company today at a bit over $84/share and have projected a long-term price advance from that level of about 7%, though EPS will be above trend for the next 12-24 months before moderating somewhat. The business will still have some cyclical elements attached to it but that will be moderated by TRTN's ever growing size relative to the industry and its consequent ability to better control pricing by being a leader and offering more pick-up and drop-off points for customers...a great mark of customer service.
The debt upgrade will help as the company further consolidates the industry and I'd expect a dividend increase to around $2.48 later this year....and possibly a special dividend of as much as a dollar.
Using my 10-year model, I am expecting a long-term 11% share price growth rate from today's price of $53 plus, conservatively, another 4% in dividends....for an expected annual return of 15%.
My cost basis is around $29.25.....I have a full position, or I'd be adding here.

New to container leasing, long trtn. Why would newbie want to buy $tgh or $cai when $trtn offers lower PE valuation AND pays 4% dividend? Which of the three stocks have delivered best total return for investors over the last 1, 3, 5 years, and which of the three are expected to deliver the best total return going fwd? Is best strategy own $trtn long term, swing trade $tgh and $cai?

What was in the earnings to drop this 5%

Just read the earnings transcript and I can see no reason for this to have fallen 10% post earnings. Just a good opportunity to buy.

Rotation out of this sector at this stage in the cycle worries me about the future . If the informed money is moving out with the disclosed earning s and outlook what does that tell you

Hopefully with the new month/qtr. more investors will find TRTN a good place to invest vs more expensive over the top PE growth companies at their peak cycles. I am banking that this growth has a little farther to go with emerging consumer and infrastructure growth.

    $TGH conversation
Love the upside and safe-bet TGH & this sector presents. Big infrastructure investments & the rising tide of post-covid economic re-opening bode especially well for $TGH $TRTN $CAI $WSC $MGRC

Very basic and unsexy, but rock solid thru foreseeable.
    Bullish

I wish TRTN stock price would perk up like it's competitors. I'm getting alot more out of trading TGH & CAI, but continue to hold TRTN long for the time being, looking for an oppty to time some trades, but it's relatively flat. Compare charts over various periods of TRTN vs TGH vs CAI. All are strong buys given the shipping container shortage, but TRTN's SP movements seem muted for some reason. Ideas ???

I am just putting this out here to see what anyone's thoughts may be. If all of these Preferred issues are callable after 5 years, then the Preferred A would be callable first in just a couple more years. It is also the highest interest rate. So why are people buying it now for $28.00 when they stand to lose $3.00 face value in just 2 years?? The dividend does not justify that premium. Is there something different about the A vs. B, C, & D??

I cant believe this board is so dead. Triton is the dominant player in its field. Its got a nice uptrend with market conditions just perfect now. You get a great dividend while the stock keeps going higher.

Surprised with the market reaction to these results, but maybe Mr. Market is disappointed there wasn't a dividend increase to go with the great earnings and forward guidance.

And I also like this quote.............

we expect the benefits from the large number of containers already placed on high value leases along with our improved leasing margins from attractive financing activity will be durable. We expect our Adjusted EPS for the full year of 2021 will be well above our Adjusted EPS in 2020, and we expect our Return on equity will remain high."

If you've got a container ship, in all likelihood you're going to need containers....and, as the container ship fleet grows in size over the next 2-3 years with new builds which has been indicated in several places....ship owners are going to be needing lots more containers.
And, in every port access location, the company to call for one's containers is usually Triton....most locations, biggest supplier, best prices, best availability.
TRTN with easily be a $75-85 stock within 2 years....if not sooner....and maybe even higher.
The company's management is also simply the best in the business, an important consideration.

My estimate of 1.51adjusted EPS for the forth quarter and a .05 raise in dividends. Let's see what happens on Tuesday morning.

Huge Q4 beat and raised guidance for Q1 2021. Outlook for the full year is also very robust. We should be on our way to $60 very soon.

I found this comment especially bullish for the future..........

As of February 9, 2021, Triton has ordered approximately $1.7 billion of containers for delivery in 2021. Most of these containers have already been committed to leases.

Blowout numbers just reported.....Guidance was very, very strong.

TRTN still on the bargain counter.
