"After TuSimple announced the completion of what it said was "the world's first" fully autonomous semi-truck run on public roads without a human driver or human intervention, JPMorgan analyst Brian Ossenbeck said he views the achievement as "a major milestone," adding that other companies have demonstrated similar operations, but used tele-assist or were completed outside the U.S. with less visibility and fewer details."

I sure hope some of you bought in the low 15s, in spite of all the cacophony from the bashers.

"The American Trucking Associations estimates that in 2021 the truck driver shortage will hit a historic high of just over 80,000 drivers. ... At current trends, the shortage could surpass 160,000 in 2030. This forecast is based on driver demographic trends, including gender and age, as well as expected freight growth." Also, regulations only allow so many hours on the road. This company will be a good investment in 5 years.

    $AUR conversation
Here is list of area where future is quite close to reality and very very large potential. I think investor should take advantage of current sell off to switch investment from large index like $spy and $qqq.
Autonomous driving: $AUR, $TSP. $GOOG and $TSLA as well but their main business is much larger so return won’t same.
LIDAR for various applications: while LiDAR primary focus is drive assist and autonomous driving, they can play bigger role in robotics and many other fields. $LAZR, $VLD, $LIDR, $AUR

Solid state battery: no explanation even needed for reason to invest. $qs, $sldp and $mvst

eVTOL: who don’t like to go office with style. $joby, $lilm, $arch, $evtl,$eh.

Commercial EV: while EV adopted due to use desired, Commercial EV is also economical. Production is only thing preventing $zev, $arvl,$ptra,$xl, $cnoo,$rivn

3D printing: manufacturing going this way for sure. There are many player but $vld and $dm are bringing innovation. There might other but I am not familiar with them so add here.
Private rocket: spacex and blue origin leader are still private but $astr, $rklb, $spec seems doing well on innovation as well.
Robotics: there are number of companies. I like $path.

I am sure people have different opinion about individual name success chance but as industry most will agree that it will become talk of second half of this decade. Investment is always with risk but 3-4 year to possible very high return worth such risk.

I really wonder why this stock decrease by 10% everyday which is more than all other stocks even though there were really good news for automation tests. Also, current price targets were around 75$, even 200$ for bullish scenario. I'm really upset for latest situation with a major loss.

I said it a lot back. Market is not paying for companies with no revenue. All of these going back to 5 bucks or less.

Look at VLDR, XL, and many of the other names. No revenue then won't survive.

    Same thing happened with SPCE.

Do you really think this is a safe investment in the long run, Why not invest in an American owned Autonomy company?

I’m thinking about investing some money in the company but was a little discouraged seeing the video of their self driving truck. The truck did not hit one red light which would have been a nice way to present their technology and show us that it is safe to be out in the streets. Does anyone else share my concern or have they showed that the truck is capable of stopping at traffic lights and even avoid or stop for pedestrian’s jaywalking? Please share with me if you have any knowledge of their technology.

ARKK still has 3.65% of TSP. She didn't sell her entire position.

However we should do this based on our own analysis and not what Cathie Wood is doing.

Safe to get in at this price?

People need to realize the infrastructure that would need to exist for fleets of these trucks to operate on level that would rival current trends. Long hauls great but nothing does t break and cost to charge another factor. The infrastructure needed is mind boggling. But when it happens, the company’s around to benefit will be monumental. Lots of truck drivers won’t be happy then.
