I'm glad t switch from COST to UAL fully early this week. I believe $57 is the bottom and we'll straight up from here.
time to go long here now... Let get back to $70. :)
have been in airlines a long time. what i notice about them is they don't have loyal investors. in fact they have very jumpy investors, and it does not take much to get an avalanche drop to happen with them. in that respect they are not as substantial. it seems the era of investing is over and maybe has been for a while. we may only really be in a new era of trading.
UAL has not bottomed.....yet! Earnings, which were weak going into the hurricane season will be even weaker now with damage to communities and businesses. Add in island damage and tourist losses, airlines will see lower revenues in next few quarters. As for UAL, CFO conference call was scary. Low cost beating on them in two profitable hubs, labor increasing and Houston hub hobbled. They don't know how to stop low cost carriers in their backyard except to loose money trying to run them out. Labor merger still having issues while cost are not in control. Buffett I believe at 58 bucks is underwater, but we have to wait and see. Wall Street is trying to support them calling it a valuation stock but most pickers are upside down in this stock.
we wouldn't know if Warren Buffet had sold some UAL shares until early Oct.
this is out of favor now but it will come roaring back. uninformed selling for peanuts

Henry appears short, understand this as you read his emails.
The bounce is finished, may resume downtrend. overall the market is not very good, UAL doesn't have a good future in the near term, so don't hold long.
Zacks Equity Research downgraded UAL from hold to strong sell on 20Sep. Robert Schiller said a bear market may be near. don't load UAL full.
WALL STREET IS REALLY INSANE AND VALUATION KILLER
Protect your investment now. This stock is being buffetted daily by analysts who think they understand this business. If they were that smart they all would have been recommending exiting the stock when it was in the 80's.....That seems a long time ago. Today's downgrades just highlight the reality that should have spoken three or four months ago......
Why these stupid analyst keep farting and creating mess in the market ？ Why not downgraded at 80"s but instead at 60? BS!
i would think it is more timely to buy here than to sell, but who knows anymore.
Although hard to prove, I believe many passengers are avoid UAL when they can after the beating incident.
if warren buffet exited the airlines, he did on the way down, and didn't make that much money. i don't recall many times when he has not held a position for some period of time. this would be atypical for him. but they say his lieutenants bought into the trade not warren himself.
jamie baker downgraded to neutral. where was he at 82.00
This is going to 45-46 range
UAL is so stupid. Their customer service is so stupid. Last week, when I checked in for my flight from Madison to Chicago, they offered me $300 voucher so I could take another flight which is 4h later. when i refused the offer, they started being rude and i didnt like the look that they gave me. UAL should hire better people to work for them.
i heard it was predicted that more people will eventually want to travel than there are available seats, creating pricing power again. i think this storm will pass, although it could take a couple of quarters.
