Urban Edge Properties recently acquired the 16-acre Wonderland Marketplace shopping center in Revere for $24.1 million, marking the first of what could be several “substantial” investments in Greater Boston for the New York-based real estate company. Urban Edge (NYSE: UE) spun out of Vornado Realty Trust (NYSE: VNO) in early 2015, and the majority of its 15.2 million-square-foot retail portfolio is located in the New York metropolitan area.
Jeff Olson, Chairman and CEO of Urban Edge Properties (UE), along with company leaders will outline the key elements of the company’s three-year growth plan at its 2019 Investor Day, being held today in New York City. The company will also highlight redevelopment projects that will fuel long-term growth. “We are building a creative and entrepreneurial platform focused on the redevelopment of our existing portfolio and the acquisition of value-add retail properties in the DC to Boston corridor – the most densely populated, supply-constrained market in the country – capitalizing on the strength of our irreplaceable real estate portfolio, our industry-leading talent and our solid balance sheet,” said Olson.
Urban Edge Properties announced today that its Board of Trustees has declared a regular quarterly dividend of $0.22 per common share. The dividend will be payable on December 31, 2019 to common shareholders of record on December 16, 2019.
A Cherry Hill shopping complex is set to get a facelift and new tenants after its longtime owner sold the property to a New Jersey real estate firm that owns dozens of retail properties in the tri-state area. Property records show Lakewood-based Paramount Realty Services bought the Cherry Hill Commons, a 265,000 square-foot plaza anchored by a Walmart at 500 Route 38, for about $29 million. New York-based Urban Edge Properties was the seller. The sale marks the first time the center, which also includes a Wawa gas station and a Panda Express on pad sites, traded hands since the 1960s. Urban Edge Properties (NYSE: UE) sold the property in an effort to refine its portfolio to include just assets in the New York metro region, said Brad Nathanson, senior managing director of investments at Institutional Property Advisors.
It seems that the masses and most of the financial media hate hedge funds and what they do, but why is this hatred of hedge funds so prominent? At the end of the day, these asset management firms do not gamble the hard-earned money of the people who are on the edge of poverty. Truth […]
