Forget everything else and focus on these:

    1) Do you believe that AI is the future of the finance while many financial institutions are preparing for huge lay offs?
    2) Upstarts 900m $ cash flow wouldnt be enough to make it hold on even for a long recession period even of all the 600m $ of loans default on its balance sheet which is impossible.
    3) Even if the revenue took a profound damage by the banks reluctant standings of loan approvals, didnt Upstart grow in terms of customer portfolio during these stormy months?
    4) Dont you think that most of the banks will start approving considerable amount of loans when the rates hit around 4pct? Do you think banks would stand back to approve loans after Jan or Feb? Thats how they will make the money.
    5) EV auto sales will be the real deal of the next decade, so will Upstart not benefit from this evolutionary period by already being prepared to it? Even the 40m dollar of Q2 revenue was generated from Autosales.
    6) Was it better if Upstart never fell to $20-25 as most of us had the chance to lower our average as most of us believes that this price will not last when the market turns.

All i see is an opportunity here. I dont think that i will be upset if upstart falls to $10 tomorrow as i will have another chance to buy some cheap stocks more. Eventually it will take off regardless of the shorts futile intentions to push the price down.

All we need is patience and courage to preserve our position not. Fortune favours the bold.

FYI anybody trying to time markets by going short and long and short and long, never realize true gains.. it’s been proven time and time over and over, little day traders like B always lose money in the end. Facts

I watched NFLX behave exactly like this in 2015 when it's price was only $24. Glad I held it until it flew above $500.
UPST will follow the exact same path.

I’ve been day trading for years and I’m so glad I finally found http://bullishstocks.tech. They’re pre-market watchlists cover all the latest market-moving news, and they don’t beat you down with tons of ads. Highly recommend!

I lost a lot of money on UPST... But I currently own 1000 shares... The moment the fed pivots, UPST will skyrocket. What will my 1000 shares be worth 2 and 5 years from now? IMO 250 in 2 years and 1000-1500 in 5 years...

initiated buy today as market broke lower lows and could rally 8-10% and it should bounce with it.

People picked the bottom at $50 at $30 at $25 and now at $20. Can you see a trend?

Swain, I see the problem- you’ve got the order wrong. Anyone who went long on this, then short, then short, then shorted some more, has undoubtedly done the best.

I originally bought 2500 shares at 235 per share. At the time, I thought I bought on the dip. Lol. I have been averaging down over the past year. Now I own 7600 shares at a cost average of $95 per share. Obviously I have taken a beating. But I am continuing to slowly accumulate more shares. As Warren Buffet says, you should only buy a stock if you plan to hold it for 10 years or more. This is not a stock that is going to make anyone a bunch of money in the short term during this recession. But if they can continue to show better results than FICO, and if UPST continues to successfully expand into auto loans, and eventually mortgages, UPST can be a big winner. There is significant risk here. But there is huge significant upside. With a ridiculous 35% of the stock held by shorts, if this stock begins to move up there will be a huge short squeeze, which will drive prices up wildly. Upstart is an interesting play IMO.
