Net income fell to $100 million, or 46 cents a share, from $256 million, or $1.15 a share, in the same period a year ago, which included benefits of tax reform. Excluding non-recurring items, adjusted earnings per share came to 56 cents, below the FactSet consensus of 59 cents. Revenue rose to $6.04 billion from $6.00 billion, topping the FactSet consensus of $5.98 billion, as benefits of inflation in beef and grocery items offset declines in case volume. Case volume declined 0.8%, while independent restaurant case volume increased 3.9%. For 2019, the company expects adjusted EPS of $2.15 to $2.25, surround the FactSet consensus of $2.19, and case volume growth of 1% to 2%. The stock has lost 8.0% over the past three months, while the S&P 500 has eased 0.6%.
