Its life insurance business lines include savings products; protection policies covering risks of death, disability, and non-self-sufficiency long term care plans; supplementary pension plans, such as individual pension schemes and open-ended pension funds; and unit linked policies. The company's non-life insurance products comprise accident, health, fire and natural events, miscellaneous damage, pecuniary losses, legal protection, credit and surety, watercraft hulls, railway rolling stock, land motor vehicle hulls, third-party liability (TPL) for land motor vehicles and watercraft, general TPL, goods in transit, and assistance insurance. It also offers outward and inward reinsurance products. In addition, the company engages in the real estate development, trading, brokerage, and management, as well as letting of properties. As of December 31, 2017, it operated through 444 general agencies and 1,099 professional sub-agencies. The company was founded in 1921 and is based in Milan, Italy.
