Ford, AMD, Chipotle, Scripps Networks and Viacom are among the stocks to watch.
After seeing its profits nosedive during the second quarter, media conglomerate Viacom is looking for ways to right the ship. Viacom — which already owns Nickelodeon, BET, Comedy Central, MTV and the Paramount network — wants to add HGTV and Food Network to the mix ( h/t The Wall Street Journal ). To do that, the New York-based company needs to take over its rival — Scripps Networks Interactive (SNI).
If Viacom were to buy Scripps Networks Interactive, CEO Bob Bakish would have to depart from a deleveraging course.
