Robotics, smart cities, autonomous vehicles, etc all need lidars, with inflation and high input costs, this will accelerate adoption

Why VLDR should take a $501m offer if AMZN decides to make an offer. $1.32 per share plus the $212m in cash VLDR has after debt is subtracted. The warrants AMZN bought gives them option to buy 39.9 m shares so for just around $85m more AMZN could own all 219m shares which makes sense for Bezos and even tho the offer is only .20 cents over current price it would be a little over fair market value. That said the forward outlook for VLDR would be far more favorable from cash standpoint when it comes to funding inventory and perhaps making acqusitions. Bezos could easily afford to position VLDR as one of the top Lidar players with his billions.

Why I am Long VLDR if it can survive the the following 2-3 years without bankruptcy or being acquired by another behemoth.

    Per TDAmeritrade:

“ Chatterjee forecasts $6 billion of revenue for Luminar and industry-leading profitability of close to $7.25 per share in 2030. Luminar was up 8% to $9.58 on Tuesday, after falling 42% this year. Analysts have a December 2023 price target of $30 on the stock.

Velodyne (VLDR), the analysts say, has had limited success in securing partnerships with players in the auto industry. "[W]e expect the company to struggle to translate its leadership in LiDAR for broader industrial applications into the largest revenue opportunity, the automotive market, " the analysts said.

Besides automotive, Velodyne's Lidar sensors are used in digital mapping of road networks. Velodyne didn't immediately respond to a request for comment.

The firm forecasts 2030 revenue of $806 million for Velodyne, with earnings of less than $1 per share. The stock, down 4% on Tuesday, trades at $1.09. It has fallen 77% this year.”

225 m in cash and only 17 m in debt this no dead duck in anyway. You can’t go bankrupt when you don’t owe much debt. You can easily cut operation costs yo make PnL work

I think they will win the lawsuit against OUST. VLDR was first. So that means they will likely pay lump sum (settle out of court) or pay dividends on revenue
