Vestas has received an order from EPV Energia, a Finish energy company for 21 V150-5.6 MW turbines for the Paskoonharju II wind energy project in the municipality of Teuva, Finland. To maximise energy production for the project’s lifetime in the site’s strong wind conditions, Vestas has tailored a solution that combines the V150-5.6 MW turbines’ robust design and large rotors with 155m towers and a 30-year service agreement. “EPV’s wind power development has always been based on a long-term viewpoint with a market-driven approach”, says Frans Liski, Managing Director of EPV Tuulivoima.
Vestas has secured an order from Fu-Gen AG, a Swiss developer for the 42 MW wind project Fjällboheden northwest of Skellefteå in Northern Sweden. To maximise the project’s power production in the site’s cold climate, Vestas provides ten V150-4.2 MW turbines equipped with the Vestas Anti-Icing System, which efficiently minimises ice formation on blades.

The Board of Directors of Vestas Wind Systems A/S has decided to initiate a share buy-back programme of up to DKK 1,500m (approx. EUR 200m) to be executed during the period 7 November 2019 to 31 December 2019. The share buy-back programme is initiated pursuant to the authorisation granted to the Board of Directors by the annual general meeting in April 2019, which authorises Vestas to acquire treasury shares at a nominal value not exceeding 10 percent of the share capital at the time of the authorisation. The purpose of the share buy-back programme is to adjust Vestas’ capital structure and to meet obligations arising from share-based incentive programmes to employees of Vestas.

Vestas has secured an order from Enlight Renewable Energy for the 113 MW wind project Målarberget in Norberg County, Sweden. Vestas has developed a solution to fit the site’s wind conditions that includes 27 V150-4.2 MW turbines and a 30-year Active Output Management (AOM 5000) service agreement to optimise energy production for the lifetime of the project. With this project, Vestas’ surpasses 400 MW order intake for the V150-4.2 MW turbine in Sweden, underlining the variant’s strong fit for the Swedish wind energy market.

Glennmont Partners has together with the Finnish developer Ilmatar Energy placed an order with Vestas for the 211 MW Piiparinmäki wind project in the municipalities of Pyhäntä and Kajaani in Finland. Furthermore, a majority of the offtake from the project is backed by a corporate power purchase agreement (PPA) with Google, enabling the project to be built on a purely merchant basis. Glennmont Partners recently acquired the project from Ilmatar Energy.
E2i Energie Speciali has placed a 43 MW order for two merchant repowering projects in the province of Chieti, Italy. For the Roccaspinalveti wind park, 24 V47-660 kW wind turbines will be replaced by nine V112-3.3 MW turbines, while the Castiglione Messer Marino will include four V112-3.3 MW wind turbines to replace third-party turbines. The order comes shortly after Vestas has finalised two other repowering projects, the Castiglione Messer Marino and the Schiavi d’Abruzzo wind parks, for E2i in Italy, demonstrating Vestas’ ability to create a strong business case in replacing older turbines with newer and more efficient variants.
Vestas has won a 16 MW auction-derived order from Iberdrola for the Pyrgari wind park located in Viotía, Greece. The contract includes the supply and installation of four V150-4.2 MW wind turbines delivered in 4.0 MW operating mode, as well as a 10-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement.
