BIDEN could ****a lot of oil companies fast very soon. Especially in this already beaten-down sector. Here is the real problem...and why the stocks struggle more now. Just listen to this https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/1318729232483168257

I’m not an expert investor, maybe someone can answer this question I have; it would be greatly appreciated:

How did this stock emerge from bankruptcy and skyrocket to such a share price at the beginning of September without having to implement a reverse stock split? I have never encountered anything like this before…

When can this get to 8? I am worried about this company. It's scary to hold any oil company these days.

Still got so much further to go downwards. Sorry, but it's true. https://oilprice.com/Energy/Energy-General/Why-Oil-Prices-Continue-To-Fall.html
Weaker supply and demand fundamentals have triggered yet another slide in oil prices, and are expected to cap crude prices during the next couple of months

I find it insane that some people still believe this is the same company as it was prior to bankruptcy and that they really believe they only did a reverse split. Their earnings release can not come soon enough although I doubt the individuals that should read it will read it. If you invest long or short just do a little bit of research.

This is garage. I see no one trust the new management either.

This has much further to drop. The environment is set for increased covid 19 concerns now with recovery lagging and possibly halting in a second wave scenario. Iran is still producing and exporting in violations of deal. Inventories will climb and demand is already decreasing again. Be cautious.

okay i held 1772 shares which i paid .79 cents each. About 1400 bucks. After the old share price were canceled and I was issued new ones I lost 1100 bucks. I am confused because they say I have been issued some kind of warrants. Can someone help me out? Doss this mean I may get some of that 1100 loss back or no? Its also thru cashapp which doesn't support warrants, so they will automatically sell on 9/29/20 unless I transfer to another broker. I also sold my positions in wll Sept 4.

Despite promises to keep in line with the OPEC+ pact, Iraq – OPEC’s second-largest producer and biggest laggard in implementing the cuts – slightly raised its crude oil exports in September

There are two distinct WLL stocks: (a) pre-BK and (b) post-BK WLL. A lot of people lost a lot of money going long with the pre-BK WLL (before BK and during BK proceedings). I understand that a lot of people do not trust WLL because of their bad experience. I stayed away from WLL during these pre-BK times. But here we are dealing with post-BK WLL. It is a totally different situation, totally different stock.

WLL today is grossly oversold. The volume is light, which means that institutional investors and new owners (i.e. the previous bondholders) are not selling WLL at this point in time. In my opinion, short-sellers are driving the price down now and that cannot last forever.

New management making a big difference. Shareholders will be rewarded big in 2021.
Whiting Petroleum (NYSE:WLL) says it has reduced its total workforce by 16%, mostly corporate positions, as part of implementing a new corporate structure.

Whiting also is reducing the compensation of its officers by 15%-20% and initiating salary reductions across a broad group of employees.

The company says it expects to generate ~$20M in annual cost savings from the moves.

Whiting also revises guidance for H2, forecasting production of 88K-92K boe/day (60% oil) and capital spending of $34M-$39M.
2021 will be huge. Till then

Shorts are out attacking WLL and bringing it down. I can see that if WLL is facing BK or going through BK proceedings. But WLL is not in BK any longer. WLL is set up so it will not face any BK prospects in the future. WLL has $3B in debt converted into equity, new ownership, new management, lower labor cost, and the energy sector in general which has already hit the bottom and is recovering (WTI is now consistently around $40). Shorts are shorting WLL today which is trading around $0.23 in pre-BK prices. Do you think that WLL will go through 2nd BK? (I do not see it).

Barron Magazine has posted today a positive article about WLL-- "Whiting Has Now Emerged From Bankruptcy. Analysts Are Starting to Like the Stock" (09/22/2020).

In that article, Truist analyst Neal Dingmann wrote that WLL had reduced its workforce by 16%, with 90% of the reductions coming from the ranks of management, and saving $20 million a year. It reduced compensation for officers by 20% and changed the bonus structure. He rates the shares at Buy, with a price target of $32.

Another analyst Leo Mariani from KeyBanc also rates the shares at Overweight. Using the company's expected cash flow, he says that Whiting trades below its peers and that it can generate positive free cash flow this year even with oil prices at $ 40 a barrel. Mariani's price target on the stock is $25.

I am long here @ $18 and it looks like I am not the only one.
