Not sure I understand why so many people in this thread dislike WMT. Other than maybe questions about how they treat their employees I don't see any reason to dislike this company from an investment standpoint. Sure AMZN represents a challenge to WMT but they are never going to be able to effectively compete with WMT in terms of groceries. WMT as a discount grocer has a big advantage in time of rising food costs and in general even when food prices aren't rising. Sam's Club not only gives you groceries for cheaper prices, they give you more food for a cheaper price. I could go on and on about why WMT will be a survivor of AMZN but obviously the bears on here have other ideas. WMT, COST, and TGT and DG and DLTR will all still be around long into the future. AMZN is going to actually have to own a discount grocer, which Whole Foods is not, and be able to have same day delivery to be able to truly be a threat to the brick and mortar discount grocers and stores.

Really? Do they live in reality?

I just can’t believe that Target is better than Walmart , i go regularly in this 2 stores and compared the number of shoppers inside and Walmart is by far ahead of it.

Peny says TGT is a short at 225, but the main problem is ---it is trading at 231. TGT is likely to go higher rather than lower. With blowout numbers, people want to own it and the dividend is now .90 a quarter. That sounds good to me. Someone will say"Well, that is not very much considering the price, but the dividend is related to when you bought the stock--- I think my cost of TGT is about $45 so that makes the dividend look a lot better-- about 2%.

Shep can't read - she either makeups stuff lies out right or is simply delusional -- most of what she claims to know about me is some fiction in her mind-- when I say something and within seconds repost the correction she makes reference to the original content -- her information about my account is made up unless she has access to it-- I have said I trade yet she constantly makes reference to my purchases from years ago not knowing at all how long I held them my position size or possible hedges -- she tells us that counting cars in the perking lots have some predictive stock value information-- a sorry democrat I suppose

Markets at all time highs!!! Guess we won’t be needing anymore stimulus money.

Quite obvious that we don't need anymore government stimulus money.

4 million Americans quit their jobs in April - a 20-year record. Many of them worked in the retail sector, which is in the middle of a massive labor shortage.

A U.S. solar company will build a new factory in Ohio, giving JRB a boost. Will WMT go solar?
First Solar, said it would invest $680 million to build a new plant in Lake Township, Ohio, which is about an hour south of Cleveland, where it already has a plant. The project is expected to add 500 jobs to the company’s roster of 1,600 employees in the United States.

Hopefully we will never need oblivious absent minded Joe in the commander in chief role.
With the aggressive threats our country is facing today especially from china and Russia too oblivious absent minded Joe believes the biggest threat our country faces today is climate change.

Millions about to lose their enhanced overly generous federal unemployment benefits thats enticing them to remain unemployed.
So many people of such low caliber in our country today that will not ever do the right thing and return to work to start supporting themselves again until they are absolutely forced to do so.
Many red states are doing just that and are forcing them to do that right thing by cutting off their enhanced federal unemployment benefits.
Never before have we ever seen so many Americans of such low caliber in our country that we are seeing today.
