Inverters using Wolf's latest XM3 SiC module (w/ 2 mosfet's in each) need two assemblies of 6 XM3's bolted to a cooling plate to equal ON's 300KW module that has 24 mosfets in it. ON's module has about 8X energy density over Wolf's approach........not even a horse race!

I would love to see this much lower to be able to buy. All chip names are much lower now especially the greatest ones like Nvidia. Based on numbers alone this is extremely expensive. I would buy when it is only expensive.

SiC is coming along quite nicely...even 200mm!

Watching the stock price rise like this makes me think people are finally realizing that SiC is the future and that Wolfspeed has the market cornered.....

    Cheers!

I owned CREE for very long time since 2000. Sold earlier as I think it's gone ahead of itself. I plan to buy again at right point.

It appears from the recent daily charts, someone appears to be actively sell it down and as soon as that happens it looks like someone else, maybe a different fund, buys it right back up. Just my suspicious mind at work.
anyway it's quite amusing to watch

Hahaha....the last two times that WOLF announced earnings, there was an incredibly high short interest out there and a lot of shorts got burned pretty bad. It looks like they may have learned a lesson because the short interest has subsided pretty substantially since November. The four main institutional sellers since September of last year have been Blackrock Inc. (1,545,581); Clearbridge Investment, Inc. (687,182); Primecap Management Company (2,546,152) complete liquidation of position; Legg Mason Clearbridge Aggressive Growth Fd (687,000). Of course there is some lag in the reporting time of these institutions, but it gives a little bit of an idea who's jerking you around on your investment.

It looks like a hedge fund is pushing the price as low as possible with their short selling, before a positive quarterly report next week. The good news is that institutional ownership is back above 105%, which may spell trouble for the hedge's naked short position.
