Xilinx Reports Record Revenue of $1.01 Billion in Fiscal Third Quarter
Record revenue of $1,011 million, representing 8% sequential growth and 26% year-over-year growth, despite ongoing industry-wide supply constraints
Data Center Group (DCG) achieved record revenue with sequential growth of 28% and 81% year-over-year, driven by Compute and Networking strength
Aerospace & Defense, Industrial and Test, Measurement & Emulation (AIT) revenue was also a record, increasing 21% sequentially and 28% year-over-year, driven by record A&D revenue and continued strength in ISM and TME end markets
Automotive, Broadcast and Consumer (ABC) revenue in the quarter decreased 4% sequentially coming off a record Q2 and largely in-line with expectations; revenue increased 28% year-over-year
Wired and Wireless Group (WWG) revenue decreased 18% sequentially and increased 1% year-over-year as supply constraints had a significant impact on business in the quarter
Platform transformation continues with total Adaptive SoC revenue, which includes Zynq and Versal platforms, up 5% sequentially and 30% year-over-year, and representing 28% of total revenue

Paragraph from XLNX's ER regarding the possibility of a second quarterly dividend:

"As permitted by the terms of the Merger Agreement between Xilinx and Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD), the Xilinx Board of Directors voted unanimously to declare a cash dividend of $0.37 per outstanding share of common stock payable on February 14, 2022 to all stockholders of record at the close of business on February 7, 2022. The dividend is conditioned upon and will only be payable if the merger has not closed on or before the record date for such dividend."

    $AMD conversation
Looks like $XLNX generated non-GAAP EPS of about $0.75 on the basis of about 252M $AMD shares. AMD will need to have a non-GAAP bottom line of $0.86 per share to match XLNX's 65% growth YoY. Even better, the demand continues to exceed supply for XLNX, just as for AMD, so it is not hard to imagine 40% to 50% revenue growth for the combined company in FY2022. The only question is: what will Lisa Su be willing to commit to at this point in the year? She usually likes to under-promise and over-deliver, so I'm thinking she may project only 30% revenue growth for the year. That would translate to about $3.75 EPS combined, which is still 45% to 50% growth on the bottom line YoY. By year end, the actual number should be around $4.50, close to 75% growth.

Xilinx (NASDAQ:XLNX) rose 1% on a report that China's antitrust regulator is working on a sign-off procedure for Advanced Micro Devices' (NASDAQ:AMD) planned acquisition.
The companies' remedy plan has been approved by the China's Stade Administration for Market Regulation ("SAMR"), according to traders, who cited a report that's circulating around this morning.
Earlier this month Dealreporter said that China was speculated to be close to wrapping up Xilinx/AMD deal review. AMD late last month said the transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022 rather than last year as the parties have not yet secured all approvals

A few things: Yes, AMD is going down ~ but with their earnings & the arbitrage being lifted I fully expect AMD to rally nicely & quickly if/when the PRC approval announcement comes. And it's not like the merger will become effective overnight. I imagine it will be fast ~ but you will be able to add XLNX/AMD shares. But it will be a small window of time to maximize your profit. The best way to make money on the pending acquisition is to own XLNX calls. I own Jan 28 220's, Feb 4 250's, Feb 18 250's (biggest position) & Feb 18 270's (may be a bridge too far). I may add a few Mar 16 270's and they closed at 2.29 yesterday. Good luck ~ especially to the long-time Xilinx faithful.

The USA FED raising rates? China lowered interest rates and Li warned the USA not to raise the USA interest rates. The question now is how independent the FED actually is and if they are not as independent as assumed who is actually guiding the USA Fed -- Brandon or Xi

This investor expects the USA FED to now refrain from raising interest rates until at least June. During the March to June time frame I expect the USA FED, which stopped buying bonds, to start divesting $15B to $30 B in April and escalating up to a possible $100B per month by June. This way the USA FED keeps both Brandon and Xi happy.

So why am I posting this on a XLNX forum? Because a rising interest rate environment is going to hurt the technology sector. The environment is going to devastate companies that are not FCF positive. Since both XLNX and AMD are FCF positive the impact should have already been factored into the share price. For the next few months there will continue to be minor price pressure as a lowering tide lowers all boats. Of all the technology stocks with a $30B valuation i believe that AMD, being so diversified, will out perform the sector while INTC will continue to struggle due to fabrication expansion costs eating up margins!
