Merger Ratio is holding pretty good at over 1.57x, indicating the market still thinks the merger is imminent. I think we'll hear something from XLNX regarding the merger tonight, and possibly an announcement of another dividend. Then we hear from $AMD on Tuesday.

Xilinx gains on report of status update for China's review of the AMD deal

Xilinx (NASDAQ:XLNX) rose 1% on a report that China's antitrust regulator is working on a sign-off procedure for Advanced Micro Devices' (NASDAQ:AMD) planned acquisition.
The companies' remedy plan has been approved by the China's Stade Administration for Market Regulation ("SAMR"), according to traders, who cited a report that's circulating around this morning.
Earlier this month Dealreporter said that China was speculated to be close to wrapping up Xilinx/AMD deal review. AMD late last month said the transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2022 rather than last year as the parties have not yet secured all approvals

Is the deal announcement tonight? Whether it is approved or denied is the question of course. looks like something is up with the huge volume coming into XLNX here.

80% probability the merger goes through based on proprietary calculation. No guesswork like the poseurs on this board. Backing up the truck.

A few things: Yes, AMD is going down ~ but with their earnings & the arbitrage being lifted I fully expect AMD to rally nicely & quickly if/when the PRC approval announcement comes. And it's not like the merger will become effective overnight. I imagine it will be fast ~ but you will be able to add XLNX/AMD shares. But it will be a small window of time to maximize your profit. The best way to make money on the pending acquisition is to own XLNX calls. I own Jan 28 220's, Feb 4 250's, Feb 18 250's (biggest position) & Feb 18 270's (may be a bridge too far). I may add a few Mar 16 270's and they closed at 2.29 yesterday. Good luck ~ especially to the long-time Xilinx faithful.

The USA FED raising rates? China lowered interest rates and Li warned the USA not to raise the USA interest rates. The question now is how independent the FED actually is and if they are not as independent as assumed who is actually guiding the USA Fed -- Brandon or Xi

This investor expects the USA FED to now refrain from raising interest rates until at least June. During the March to June time frame I expect the USA FED, which stopped buying bonds, to start divesting $15B to $30 B in April and escalating up to a possible $100B per month by June. This way the USA FED keeps both Brandon and Xi happy.

So why am I posting this on a XLNX forum? Because a rising interest rate environment is going to hurt the technology sector. The environment is going to devastate companies that are not FCF positive. Since both XLNX and AMD are FCF positive the impact should have already been factored into the share price. For the next few months there will continue to be minor price pressure as a lowering tide lowers all boats. Of all the technology stocks with a $30B valuation i believe that AMD, being so diversified, will out perform the sector while INTC will continue to struggle due to fabrication expansion costs eating up margins!

Latest AMD/XLNX ratio is 1.57 & it has been rising the past three days. If you put up a daily chart comparing XLNX:AMD together ~ the picture starts to become fairly crystal actually. Matter of fact, it is about to do a golden cross (50-day moving avg passing thru 200-day). Very encouraging.

    $AMD conversation
Another day without a rejection of the $XLNX merger by China. Every other entity in the world has approved the merger so there's no reason China would not approve. Due to delays in other mergers I'm familiar with, it appears that the issue is the workloads at government offices where they blame everything on COVID like every government agency does. Maybe the regulators are "working from home" and can't get it done on ZOOM meetings.
