Overall best inflation-hedge investment here? Seems like inflation is only going to persist here assumingly over the next year or so. From what I've read for good inflation investments:
REITS - but if rates rise to fight inflation they'll get killed
Commodities (metals) - it seems like some have already taken off this last year and I just can't stomach putting too much money in Gold.
Consumer Staples: seems like a no brainer, and it has a decent dividend with XLP.
    Bullish

Wouldn't consumer staples be a good sector to have a position in with a potential recession looming in 2019? I get it that XLP won't return much compared to other funds if we see a bull market year.

I was searching for "where to put your money" to prepare for a possible bear market, and it seems like "consumer staples" is what fund managers like. So here we go. I hope it's a good hedge.

Might buy some $XLP today. Now that you know that, make sure that you continue not caring.

WAY overpriced with P/E of near 30. This is a great anchoring ETF to OWN at levels near 12-15. This has NO potential for growth and only downside risk due to revaluation of stock market. YUK!

The best performing market sector today was consumer staples but on very weak volume. This is setting up for a final flush down to $48.50-50.00.

Analyst on "FAST MONEY" says money going into cyclical (SEMI's) stocks......and will come out of over valued, over owned Staples. I bought 50 contracts of the AUgust 16th, $60 PUTS for 50 cents near the close...................I have 100% faith this rolls over in a month, especially after FED meeting.

I just stumbled into these ETF related conversations thinking I might actually find something useful.

But what do I find…..gamblers, scammers and childish trolls.

These comment sections are all cesspools. Many people posting comments can't even write or spell.

    I need to go wash.
