Adding Capital Paints to Axalta’s operations will give the company a larger footprint in the region and paves the way “for future business growth” there, Sobers Sethi, Axalta president of emerging markets, said in a statement. The acquisition will also help Axalta better support its local customers, specifically in the oil and gas architectural segments, Sethi said. Refinishers simply take the color readings from a vehicle's paintwork using the spectrophotometer, which then wirelessly sends the readings to Axalta's online global color database.
