Is this the bottom? Looks like a lot more buying than selling right now at this price. Would expect price to creep up soon. Wish I had waited a few days before buying more. Thought I was getting a good price at $7.50! Think this $0.05 ticker pilot is part of the problem. Seems like a lot of stocks that are part of it are getting heavily manipulated and shorted. How much longer before it goes back to normal?

Could anyone elaborate one why Institutional Ownership is shown to be greater than 100%?
Is the DIVI at any risk? I don't see it, they are making good money.
New store opening in Fairfield, CA. Company is still growing! Definite buy!
Ill sell in the mid-teens.
Retail sales at sporting good stores up 0.1 percent. Not a large increase, but an increase nonetheless.
I think BGFV is due for a pullback. What are your thoughts? if you guys have questions you should ask Awe-Some.Sto-ck.s. They often respond to my emails which is helpful.
This stock is worth way more. I understand that there is panic in the retail sector. But people like to buy some items in the store (look at an Apple store). And Big 5 has one other thing in its favor - it sells firearms - these can only really be sold in stores. But you will have to wait for 3+ years for this to do much in this regard - if there is a change in parties in the White House, then there will be a run on these items.
If you want to see what a short squeeze in the retail sector looks like, take a look at BKE today. Only 13% of BKE shares were short, with 10 days to cover (according to Schwab). BKE pays a nice dividend... all similar to BGFV, but BGFV's numbers are even more suited for the big short squeeze.
Let's sum it up: 1. This profitable company has a low PE of 7.4. EPS of 1.09. 2. This company pays a dividend of 7.55%. Sixty cents per share per year. 3. Institutions own 125% of this stock. TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT more than there are shares available. 4. SIXTY-NINE PERCENT of the float is short. 69%! Days to cover are 18!! 5. Recent negative articles by Zacks, and sell ratings are to give cover to the institutional shorts who don't want to get stuck paying the 7.5% dividend. 6. BUY THIS STOCK. I expect to sell the shares that I bought today for 8.09 at 12$ within 6 weeks.
Zacks still out there telling folks to sell. But the low volume this week tells us that it's not working, and shorts are in some deep doo doo. Nice try, though. They have no shame.... telling people to sell now after a 3-month decline of almost 75%. Where were they 3 months ago?
Tom, the reason Zack's has gone negative is that BGFV does not make enough profits to continue with the $.15 quarterly dividend. So expect the dividend to be cut or eliminated after this quarter.
Additionally, it is entirely possible that BGFV has been misreporting its inventory and profit #'s for years. It is entirely possible it is a house of cards ready to be revealed as a fraud. Tom, this is always the risk with retail companies/stocks. One day, out of no where comes a dividend cut/stop and the declaration from management that they are re-instating #'s, i.e., gee our inventory #'s are an accounting error.
Suddenly overnight $7.65 becomes $2.95.........Could be the reason BGFV is so heavily shorted.
Almost three times avg daily volume today. Stock is being churned, shorts are covering.
Big Five goes way up or way down in after hours trading. It's up close to 60 cents right now. But if it follows pattern, it will erase any gains or losses in after hours trading when the bell rings. Can someone tell me, a rank amateur in stocks, what is happening here?
How safe is the divi???
Anyone know why it jumped so much today? Perhaps just because it had to be the day i sold some options...
I think BGFV is due for a pullback. What are your thoughts? This is so frustrating trying to find trade ideas. I've subscribed to some email newsletters which helps me with new stock ideas. awe-some*sto-cks is the one i like best.
Two trades after hours totaling 78,330 shares at $7.60. Someone is betting 595k at this level.
