The babies and young children apparel retailer said employee benefits will continue during the furlough period, and pay will resume once the stores reopen. In response to lower sales as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, the company said it cancelled and significantly reduced inventory commitments; extended payment terms with suppliers, vendors and landlords; cut planned capital expenditures; reduced salaries; and suspended merit increases and 401(k) matches. The stock has shed 40.0% year to date, while the SPDR S&P Retail ETF has dropped 40.1% and the S&P 500 has declined 23.0%.
