Moody's Investors Service, ("Moody's") has downgraded the ratings of EPR Properties, including its senior unsecured and issuer ratings to Baa3 from Baa2. The ratings downgrade reflects the substantial decline in the REIT's cash flows, as the coronavirus pandemic is impacting its experiential tenants' businesses and ability to pay rent to EPR.
EPR Properties (NYSE: EPR) will release third quarter 2020 financial results November 4 and host a management conference call November 5 at 8:30 ET.
Shares of movie theater operator Cinemark Holdings (NYSE: CNK) fell more than 10% at the open on Oct. 13. Following along was theater-owning real estate investment trust (REIT) EPR Properties (NYSE: EPR), which dropped nearly 8% in early trading on Wall Street. The drop in both stocks was driven by negative news out of AMC Entertainment (NYSE: AMC), which itself was down as much as 11% early on.
