Fraport raises forecast for Antalya airport as Russians return

Fraport has raised its forecast for passenger numbers at Turkey's Antalya airport this year after a rush of Russian tourists at the start of the summer vacation season, the airport operator's finance chief said. "Given the positive trends and very surprising run by the Russians to Antalya in the first six months, we are changing our guidance so that we now see potential of up to 24 million," Matthias Zieschang told analysts during a conference call after Fraport reported second-quarter financial results. Fraport had previously expected passenger volume at Antalya, of which it owns half, to rise to 22 million this year from 19 million in 2016.

Greece aims at 6 bln euros in privatisations revenues by 2018

Greece aims to raise a total of 6 billion euros ($6.83 billion)from privatisations by 2018, the head of its privatisations agency (HRADF) said on Thursday, making up for a revenue shortfall last year and hoping to overperform its latest bailout target. Privatisations have been a major part of Greece's three international bailouts since 2010, but political resistance and red tape have hurt revenues. Athens has raised just 4.4 billion euros so far and has repeatedly revised targets downwards.

Big stock investors establish Greek foothold in patient bet

Big money managers have started buying cheap Greek stocks from banks to lotteries as clouds over talks between Athens and its international creditors gradually clear, anticipating big returns. A deal in May when Greece agreed to more austerity measures raised hopes of possible debt relief for a country that has endured economic hardship for years, resulting in the longest winning streak for the Athens bourse in more than two decades. Greek stocks have had at least one false dawn since the country's first EU/IMF bailout in 2010 - the market rose in 2012-14 only to fall back - and on Monday, the creditors failed to reach a deal after eight hours of talks, dashing hopes of an immediate breakthrough.

Lufthansa shares boosted by upbeat profit target

Lufthansa announced a higher than expected 2017 profit target on Thursday, saying a rebound in demand in the United States and Asia and a breakthrough pay deal with pilots had improved its prospects. Lufthansa's shares jumped nearly 6 percent to trade above 15 euros for the first time in a year and were 4.4 percent higher at 1213 GMT, thanks to the profit target and the pay deal ending months of strikes by pilots struck a day earlier. Like its rivals, Lufthansa's ticket prices came under pressure in Europe and elsewhere last year from overcapacity and fierce competition from airlines with a lower cost base.
