Not all companies are expected to survive 2017's changing consumer landscape.
Houston-based Stage Stores Inc. has closed on a multimillion-dollar deal to buy certain assets from bankrupt Midwest retailer Gordmans Stores Inc. Stage Stores (SSI) plans to pay $35 million to $40 million for the inventory, according to an April 7 press release . The company announced March 30 it won a bid to acquire about half of Gordmans’ stores and other assets through a bankruptcy auction, but financial terms were not disclosed at the time.
