A Trinity Industries (NYSE: TRN) subsidiary has bought 230 acres in Iowa to construct a multi-million-dollar railcar maintenance facility. TrinityRail Maintenance Services will build the facility in Shell Rock, Iowa, with operations expected to start by the end of 2020. The facility will be near the Iowa Northern shortline railroad, which provides transloading services and supports the local grain and renewable energy industries.
Trinity Industries, Inc. (TRN) (“Trinity”) announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, TrinityRail Maintenance Services, Inc. (“TRMS”), has agreed to purchase land for the construction of a new railcar maintenance services facility in Shell Rock, Iowa. TRMS has selected the 230-acre site for its expansion, which is expected to employ over 250 people following Trinity’s planned capital investment of approximately $60 million in the Butler County, Iowa, community.
