Moody's Investors Service says that AGL Energy Ltd's (AGL, Baa2 stable) decision to withdraw its non-binding, indicative proposal to acquire Vocus will not impact AGL's Baa2 issuer rating, (P)Baa2 senior unsecured MTN program rating or stable outlook. "IMPORTANT NOTICE: MOODY'S RATINGS AND PUBLICATIONS ARE NOT INTENDED FOR USE BY RETAIL INVESTORS. AGL announced that it had been granted exclusive access to conduct due diligence on Vocus on Tuesday, 11 June 2019 for a period of four weeks after submitting a non-binding, indicative proposal to acquire Vocus via Scheme of Arrangement.
Moody's Investors Service says that AGL Energy Ltd's (AGL's) Baa2 issuer rating and stable outlook, as well as the Baa2 stable issuer rating of subsidiary AGL Hydro Partnership, will not be immediately affected by AGL's non-binding, indicative proposal of 11 June 2019 to acquire all the shares in Vocus Group Limited (Vocus - unrated) at AUD4.85 per share in cash to be implemented by way of a Scheme of Arrangement. Vocus Group Ltd on Tuesday said Swedish private equity firm EQT Infrastructure had withdrawn its A$3.3 billion ($2.30 billion) buyout offer, making it the fourth suitor to drop its bid for the telecoms company in the last two years. "Following an accelerated period of due diligence, EQT has decided not to proceed with the transaction outlined in the indicative proposal," Vocus said in a statement.
