AES Corp., based in Arlington, Virginia, is an independent global power company. In addition, the company owns three regulated utilities in the U.S. It generates approximately 32,000 megawatts of electricity through 60 thermal and renewable generation facilities, and delivers electricity through a diverse portfolio of distribution utilities. AES has operations in 13 countries, including United States, Chile, Colombia, Argentina, Brazil, and Mexico.

Gary has directed Argus' Public Utility investment research since 1986. His prior professional experience includes 17 years with a number of Wall Street firms, working in corporate finance and conducting securities research in the gas transmission, electric & gas utility and oil & gas production industries. In 2002, the Wall Street Journal Annual Analysts Survey cited Gary as a 'Best on the Street' Utilities analyst. He also won the award in 2009 and 2012. Gary holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Westminster College in Fulton, Mo.; an MBA in Finance & Accounting from Washington University (St. Louis); and a Master's degree in History from Oklahoma State University. Prior to his graduate studies, Gary served as an officer in the U.S. Army's Third Armored Division in Germany. He is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Wall Street Utility Group.
