Stocks closed lower on Friday, finishing off a week that saw all major indexes decline. Riskier equities led the declines, with tech stocks falling sharply on Thursday. On Friday, The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 159 points, or 0.6%. The S&P 500 was 0.8% and the Nasdaq Composite was down 1.3%. For the full week, the Dow was down 1.8%, the S&P 500 was down 2.3% and the Nasdaq fell 3.3%. For the year-to-date, the DJIA is down 1.4%, the S&P is up 6.1%, and the Nasdaq is up 26.1%. Over the past 52 weeks, the Dow is up 5.0%, the S&P 500 is up 15.1%, and the Nasdaq is up 39.6%.
