Gary F. Hovis

Gary has directed Argus' Public Utility investment research since 1986. His prior professional experience includes 17 years with a number of Wall Street firms, working in corporate finance and conducting securities research in the gas transmission, electric & gas utility and oil & gas production industries. In 2002, the Wall Street Journal Annual Analysts Survey cited Gary as a 'Best on the Street' Utilities analyst. He also won the award in 2009 and 2012. Gary holds a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Westminster College in Fulton, Mo.; an MBA in Finance & Accounting from Washington University (St. Louis); and a Master's degree in History from Oklahoma State University. Prior to his graduate studies, Gary served as an officer in the U.S. Army's Third Armored Division in Germany. He is a member of the New York Society of Security Analysts and the Wall Street Utility Group.
