Amazon Prime Day 2018 had a bumpy start...heavy traffic on the site caused it to crash and left customers frustrated. Despite the technical glitches, according to estimates from Feedadvisor spending jumped 89 percent in the first 12 hours, on the app and website, compared to the same time last year. And this year Prime customers have Whole Foods deals added into the mix, and an extra 6 hours to shop. Amazon doesn't disclose past Prime Day revenue but sales for the event are projected to shatter last year's total by 40%.
And in addition to Prime Day news Amazon Web Services has re-upped its partnership with major league baseball.
