'American Chopper' stars bury the hatchet with emotional reconciliation
On the new American Chopper, Paul Teutul Sr. visited his son Paul Teutul Jr. after years of silence and turmoil. The two worked together from 1999 until 2009, when Jr. was fired from their family's motorcycle shop, Orange County Choppers. Paul Sr. admitted to having communication problems with his Paul Jr., but he hoped it to avoid having a relationship with him like he had with his own father. An emotional Paul Sr. opened up about his father, saying, "We fought all the time, could never say two words to each other. You know, the only time that I got to talk to him was when he was on his deathbed." Paul Jr. seemed glad that his dad opened up. He said, "We can make up for lost time. That's what I think. Let's have fun now, while we're still young enough to be able to enjoy each other's company." The father and son both said they love each other. Paul Jr. admitted later, "For him to come down here and open up like that, he doesn't have to tell me that he wants a relationship. I know he does by his actions."
