It’s official: Prince William will be Prince Harry‘s best man at his May 19 wedding to Meghan Markle in Windsor, the same role that Harry played for William on the occasion of his 2011 marriage to Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. Whether playing piano, traveling around the world on royal tours or just goofing around — often near their mom, Princess Diana — William and Harry were always hams for the camera from a young age. It doesn’t hurt that, like Prince George and Princess Charlotte after them, their wardrobes were impeccably adorable.
American Airlines passenger Brittany Oswell died after a flight on which she suffered an embolism and went into cardiac arrest, according to a wrongful death lawsuit filed against the airline by Oswell's husband and parents. Attorney Brad Cranshaw claims a doctor on the flight examined Oswell and asked for an emergency landing multiple times. The flight crew allegedly didn't follow the doctor's request, and Oswell later died at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.
Prosecutors probing President Donald Trump’s lawyer said they are prepared to use a neutral outsider to review documents seized this month from the home and office of Michael Cohen, an about-face from the government’s initial plan to scrutinize the documents itself. In a five-page letter to the judge on Thursday, federal prosecutors in Manhattan said they now recommend that retired U.S. Magistrate Judge Frank Maas serve as the special master to weed out records that might be covered by the attorney-client privilege. “We believe that using Judge Maas or another neutral retired former Magistrate Judge familiar with this electronic discovery process and with experience in ruling on issues of privilege will lead to an expeditious and fair review of the materials obtained through the judicially authorized search warrants,” prosecutors said in a letter filed just hours before a court hearing scheduled for noon.

Amazon is increasing the price of its Prime membership from $99 to $119 starting on May 11. Recently, my wife and I went through one of the more excruciating experiences of our lives—the euthanasia of our beloved dog, Murphy. I remember making eye contact with Murphy moments before she took her last breath—she flashed me a look that was an endearing blend of confusion and the reassurance that everything was okay because we were both by her side. When people who have never had a dog see their dog-owning friends mourn the loss of a pet, they probably think it’s all a bit of an overreaction; after all, it’s “just a dog.” However, those who have loved a dog know the truth: Your own pet is never “just a dog.” Many times, I’ve had friends guiltily confide to me that they grieved more over

Inspections of jet engines at Southwest Airlines turned up one cracked fan blade last year but no others since last week's deadly accident that investigators believe started when a weakened blade broke off during flight. Southwest executives said Thursday that they have checked more than 25,000 fan blades since 2016 for signs of metal fatigue and the remaining 10,000 will be inspected by mid-May. Last-minute trips fell, but so did bookings into May. Southwest canceled some flights to send planes for inspections, and it stopped advertising on television and social media.
In terms of direct deaths attributable to the accident, the Chernobyl nuclear disaster turned out to be anything but a highly destructive force. Whereas the nuclear bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki claimed close to 200,000 immediate victims — more than 100,000 killed and the rest injured — the Chernobyl explosion caused 2 immediate deaths and 29 deaths from acute radiation sickness in the course of the next three months. Altogether, 237 people were airlifted from Chernobyl to Moscow and treated in the special clinic there.

Tomorrow (April 27), Kim Jong-un will cross the military demarcation line separating his country from South Korea—a first for a North Korean leader—for a historic summit with South Korean president Moon Jae-in. When he makes the crossing, he’ll bring with him his wife Ri Sol-ju, his sister Kim Yo-jong, several high-level North Korean officials, possibly edible symbolic gifts—and a toilet. The Washington Post said the leader doesn’t use public toilets, citing Lee Yun-keol, who before defecting to South Korea worked at one time in a North Korean guard unit that protects the leader.

Berkshire Hathaway (BRK-A, BRK-B) CEO Warren Buffett is one of the most ardent bulls when it comes to the U.S. stock market and the economy at large. Earlier this year, Yahoo Finance’s Andy Serwer spoke with Buffett in Omaha, and during this conversation Buffett explained the magic of compounding by illustrating how a $114 could’ve turned into $400,000. Of course, the road between 1942 and 2018 was anything but smooth. The stock market crashed in 1987, investors endured a multi-year bear market in the 1970s, the tech bubble burst in 2000, and the global economy ground to a halt in 2008.

Boeing has found new homes for jets it hoped to deliver to Iran this year, further clouding the prospect of quick deliveries as U.S. President Donald Trump considers whether to withdraw from a pact to remove nuclear-related sanctions. The head of the U.S. planemaker also signaled on Wednesday that Boeing is no longer as concerned as it once was that a collapse of the deal could force it to cut production of the 777 jetliner, threatening hundreds of jobs, due to a pickup in demand. "We have no Iranian deliveries that are scheduled or part of the (production) skyline this year, so those have been deferred in line with the U.S. government process," Boeing Chief Executive Dennis Muilenburg said in a conference call.

Ford Motor Co. said Wednesday it will stop investing in sedans in North America, bowing to U.S. drivers’ seemingly never-ending zest for crossovers and pickup trucks. Ford F, +2.61% shifted focus on “building a winning portfolio” of vehicles, by which it meant no more of its slow-selling sedans at least for North America. U.S. drivers have gravitated to SUVs and pickup trucks for years, thanks in part to these vehicles’ relative fuel economy improvements and price drops. Many car buyers also report enjoying the high-riding seating position of an SUV or pickup truck. “Ford realized it can’t be everything to everyone, and in today’s market that could be OK,” said Jessica Caldwell, an analyst with
